Kumba, CameroonPrince Ndoki Essoka Mukete has donated FCFA 100,000 to the Smile Foundation in support of vulnerable children preparing for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The donation was made on Sunday, August 23, 2026, during a church service at PC Kumba Town, where the Smile Foundation presented tuition scholarships to vulnerable children. The contribution from Prince Ndoki is intended to support the foundation's efforts to keep children from disadvantaged backgrounds in school, amid the financial difficulties faced by many families in the South west region.

Speaking to Pinnacle Times, Prince Ndoki Essoka Mukete said the ongoing crisis in Cameroon's Northwest and Southwest Regions should not make children its target.

“Even though there's a crisis in the Northwest and Southwest Regions, children should not be the target.”

He stressed the need for children to continue receiving support and access to education despite the challenges created by the crisis.

The Smiles Foundation has been supporting vulnerable and less privileged children through educational assistance and other humanitarian interventions. During Sunday's event, the foundation also offered tuition scholarships to children to enable them to pursue their education in the coming academic year.

The donation by Prince Ndoki adds to efforts by individuals and organisations seeking to reduce the impact of the crisis on vulnerable children and give them opportunities to remain in school.

With the 2026/2027 academic year approaching, stakeholders have continued to call for greater community support to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent vulnerable children from accessing education.
